Privacy Policy

Overview

ArtCloset is a private, offline-first catalog for artworks you make, own, or keep. This policy explains how ArtCloset handles your data.

No Data Collection

ArtCloset does not collect, transmit, or share your personal or catalog data with us. ArtCloset has no backend server and does not require an ArtCloset account — information you enter stays on your device.

We do not have access to:

• Your artwork catalog, titles, prices, notes, or collection names
• Artwork photos stored in the app
• Your artist profile, calling card, or buyer email drafts
• VIP codes you redeem (checked only on this device)
• Any files you create, export, share, or restore within the app

Data Storage

All catalog data — artworks, images, collections, profile, labels, and settings — is stored locally on your device only (SQLite and app files). We cannot view, access, or recover it.

If you uninstall the app or lose your device without a backup you control, that data cannot be recovered by us, because we never had access to it.

Optional local catalog export creates a metadata JSON file you share yourself via the device share sheet. Image files are not included in that export. We do not receive the file.

Optional Premium Google Drive backup is described below. It is a manual action you start; ArtCloset never uploads in the background.

Device Permissions

ArtCloset may request these permissions only to support features you choose to use:

• Camera — photograph artwork (only when you choose to capture a photo).
• Photos / media library — select an existing artwork image from your gallery (only when you choose).
• Storage / file access — save or share exports, labels, share cards, or backup files you explicitly create.

We do not request microphone access. A short in-app chime may play from a bundled sound file; ArtCloset does not record audio. We do not use permissions to collect data in the background.

Google Drive backup (optional Premium)

Free ArtCloset works fully offline with no Google account. If you unlock Premium (VIP code or a future store purchase) and tap Connect Google, ArtCloset uses Google Sign-In on your device so you can back up and restore your catalog.

When you choose this:

• ArtCloset requests access only to its private Drive app data folder (drive.appdata) — not your everyday My Drive files.
• Backup now uploads a snapshot (database + managed images) to your Google account. We do not receive that file.
• Restore from Drive downloads that snapshot back onto this device and replaces the local catalog (no merge).
• Sign-in tokens are stored on the device (secure storage). Disconnecting Google clears those local tokens. The backup file remains in your Google account until you overwrite or remove it.

Google processes this sign-in and storage under Google’s Privacy Policy. ArtCloset does not operate Google Drive and cannot see your Drive contents from our side.

Third-Party Services

In-app purchases (future Premium)

When store purchase is available, purchases will be processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). Payment and billing data are handled by those platforms under their privacy policies. We do not receive your payment card details. Tester VIP codes are redeemed only on your device.

Email and sharing

When you email artwork selections or share a card, ArtCloset opens your device’s mail or share sheet with content you chose. Sending is entirely your choice; we do not operate an email or sharing server and do not receive the contents.

ArtCloset does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. If that changes in a future update, this policy will be updated and reflected in the app’s store Data Safety disclosure.

Children’s Privacy

ArtCloset is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
