Privacy Policy

ClearLedger is a local-only bookkeeping app for freelancers and solo business owners. This policy explains how ClearLedger handles your data.

ClearLedger does not collect, transmit, or share your personal or financial data with us. ClearLedger has no backend server — information you enter stays on your device.

We do not have access to:

• Your financial records, transactions, or bookkeeping entries
• Your business or client information
• Receipt photos or backup files on your device
• Any files you create, export, or restore within the app

All data — transactions, invoices, clients, catalog items, and settings — is stored locally on your device only. We cannot view, access, or recover it.

If you uninstall the app or lose your device without a manual backup, that data cannot be recovered by us, because we never had access to it.

Optional Pro backup exports a file you control via your device’s share sheet (email, cloud drive, etc.). We do not receive that file.

ClearLedger may request these permissions only to support app features:

• Camera — photograph receipts for expenses (only when you choose to capture a receipt).
• Photos / media library — attach an existing receipt image from your gallery (only when you choose).
• Biometrics or device credentials — optional app lock (Pro); used only to unlock the app on your device. Biometric data is handled by your operating system and is not sent to us.
• Storage / file access — read or write backup, export, or import files you explicitly select.

We do not request microphone access. We do not use permissions to collect data in the background.

In-app purchases (ClearLedger Pro)

Purchases are processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). Payment and billing data are handled by those platforms under their privacy policies. We do not receive your payment card details.

Email summaries

When you email a summary, ClearLedger opens your device’s mail app with a pre-filled message. Sending is entirely your choice; we do not operate an email server and do not receive the contents.

ClearLedger does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. If that changes in a future update, this policy will be updated and reflected in the app’s store Data Safety disclosure.

ClearLedger is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
